Avisina is certified by the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport for Specialist Medical Care and as such, the examinations and treatments by the Specialist Urologist are covered by the basic insurance package and are usually reimbursed by the insurance company. To qualify for reimbursement, you need to be referred by your doctor.
Reimbursement of urology costs with referral
To claim the treatment, you need a referral from your general practitioner. If your health insurance company says that treatment and/or examinations at Avisina are not reimbursed, please contact us.
Own risk
To keep healthcare affordable, the Government sets a legally required own risk for everyone every year. The own risk is € 385. This means that you pay the first healthcare costs of your basic insurance package. This applies to visits to hospitals as well as visits to independent healthcare providers such as Avisina.
Claims by Avisina
Whenever possible, Avisina claims directly from your health insurance. Claims can be handled in three different ways, depending on your health insurance company.
The claim methods are outlined below.
1. Directly from your health insurance company. Avisina has a payment agreement with the following health insurance companies. They pay directly to Avisina.

2. Claim through debt assignment (Akte van Cessie). If you sign the debt assignment deed, you authorise Avisina to submit the bill to your health insurance company. The health insurance company will then pay Avisina directly. The health insurance companies below accept the claim through an Akte van Cessie.

3. Submit the bill yourself. The health insurance company does not allow Avisina to submit bills directly. In this case you will receive the bill by post. You can then submit it yourself to your health insurance company.
60%-100% of the bill will be reimbursed by your health insurance company. Avisina will reimburse the remaining 40%-0% (excluding vasectomy, this concerns uninsured care). The own risk clause remains in all cases.
If you are insured with the health insurance companies below, you need to submit the bill yourself.

Non-resident patients
If you are a Dutch national living abroad or an expat or tourist in the Netherlands and thus do not have Dutch insurance cover, you may make an appointment without a doctor’s referral.
The costs of the consultation depend on the problem and the examinations needed. This means that the exact costs are not set in advance. We can give an estimate of the costs though.
After your visit to Avisina you will be billed and need to pay Avisina directly. You can then submit the bill to your insurance company abroad. Please contact your insurance company for information about the level of reimbursement.
All-in fees
You may need or want to pay the bill for your treatment yourself. In this case you will be charged an All-in fee. The bill that you will receive will be for what we call a Diagnosis-Treatment-Combination (DTC). The DTC includes all the steps that are needed to treat a disorder or an illness, from the very first consultation to the very last check-up (within a certain period).
The DTC has a fixed price. Click here for the All in rates.
Debt assignment and Permission Form
Avisina claims directly from your health insurance company. To do this, Avisina needs your authorisation. You authorise Avisina by signing the Akte van Cessie. This is arranged during your first visit to Avisina. Download the Akte van Cessie here..
